Most people choose drying their clothes automatically using tumble dryers instead of using natural solar energy. Tumble dryers are very effective as they dry the clothes quickly. Also, they are affordable and quite simple to use.
Technological developments over the past few years have also lead to the production of much more sophisticated ones, which are more efficient and at the same time it also uses relatively lesser energy.
Tumble dryers these days come in a variety of shapes, colour and sizes. They can be selected in accordance with one’s needs i.e. in case your family is a big one, then you might require a bigger dryer in order to cater to more clothes and therefore saves time. They variety are also there to complement the theme of the property. Though, there are many different types available, it can broadly be classified into 3 types i.e. the vented type, gas run type and the condenser type.
In the condenser type of dryers, water or moisture is removed from the clothes by passing hot steam through them. As soon as steam is passed, additionally, it gets rid of the condensed water molecules that are removed and collected individually. This water can be drained out separately.
Vented Dryers requires an air vent and hence need a place near an outside wall with a hole to let the machine’s hose out that will pass the warm moist air made through the drying process.
Apart from all this, the basic type of dryers dries the clothes by rotating them along an axis. They’re also called entry-level dryers. They generally spin the clothes only one way. Many problems come up from this like tangling of clothes and such. This made the clothing a lot more wrinkled and thus hard to iron. To avoid this issue, the new dryers now spin the clothes in both the directions as well. Because they are moving in both directions, the clothes can certainly untangle themselves.
In order to save energy, many of these dryers are also fitted with sensors that could indicate when the clothing is totally dry. Thus, it may avoid unnecessary waste of energy. For woolen clothes, there is also an option referred to as crease guard. This can enable the woolen clothes to dry faster without the creasing.
Other features such as timer, to time the drying procedure, heat settings for passing the hot air through the clothes with various temperatures as well as other special treatment for particular varieties of fabrics.
Though some combinations can maintain the performance of the dryer, they are relatively more expensive. Therefore, careful choices have to be made accordingly.
